Coach Matt has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. He grew up in Shingle Springs, California.
Matt spent his high school baseball career at Ponderosa High School, playing on their varsity team for 3 years. He continued playing baseball at Sierra College (2009-2011) and Chico State (2011-2013), where he pitched at both colleges. Matt started coaching at Hard 90 during his summers and breaks in 2011.
After college, Matt decided to take on travel ball teams at Hard 90. He has since coached a wide variety of ages - youth, middle school, and high school players. Hutch also coaches at our Holiday Baseball Camps and offers private lessons for both baseball and softball. In 2018 and 2019, he earned the title of "Hard 90 Coach of the Year". He is coaching the 11u Power and the 12u Phenom this travel ball season.
