We are excited to share the fantastic news that Coach Tony Vargas, a cornerstone of the Hard 90 coaching staff, has been named the Head Varsity Baseball Coach of the Ponderosa Bruins! This new role is a testament to his extensive experience, dedication, and passion for developing players. Even as he steps into this exciting position, we’re thrilled to confirm that Coach Tony will continue to coach at Hard 90, working with our youth travel teams and offering private pitching lessons.
Tony’s Incredible Coaching Legacy
Coach Tony has been a vital part of Hard 90 for over five years, bringing his wealth of knowledge and deep commitment to player development. Whether coaching youth travel teams or offering one-on-one pitching lessons, Tony has played a pivotal role in helping our players improve their skills and confidence on the field.
His experience extends far beyond Hard 90, with a coaching résumé that reflects decades of success:
Professional Coaching Experience:
Roswell West Little League Coach: 18 years, 18 championships.
Manager for 13 All-Star Teams: Including the California State Champions Big League Team.
Coach at Roseville High School: 3 years.
Coach at Granite Bay High School.
Pitching Coach at American River College: 3 years.
Coach for Two Semi-Pro Teams.
Currently at Ponderosa High School: Now stepping into the Head Varsity Baseball Coach role.
Playing Career:
Roseville High School graduate.
Played at Sierra College, where he developed as both a player and a leader.
