We’re thrilled to share the exciting news that Coach Matt “Hutch” Hutchins has been named the varsity head coach of the Vista del Lago baseball team! This new role is a testament to Coach Hutch’s dedication to the game, his players, and the growth of baseball in our community.
Coach Hutchins has a rich history in baseball. A three-year varsity starter at Ponderosa High School, he went on to play at Sierra College (2009-2011) and later at Chico State (2011-2013), where he honed his skills and deepened his passion for the game. His experience as a player laid the foundation for the dedicated coach he is today.
For nearly 15 years, Hutch has been a pillar at Hard 90, coaching teams from 10U to 18U. Known for his unwavering commitment to his players, Hutch pours everything into developing them both on and off the field. He is respected and admired for how deeply he cares about his players’ growth, striving to help each one become the best version of themselves. His positive influence has helped shape countless young athletes, many of whom have gone on to high school, collegiate, and even professional baseball careers.
In addition to his new role at Vista del Lago, Coach Hutch will continue to lead Hard 90’s high school and junior high hitting classes a few times a week, as well as private lessons. His expertise, energy, and dedication will continue to benefit the Hard 90 family, inspiring players to reach their full potential and excel on the field.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Hutch on this well-deserved opportunity. We’re excited to see him bring the same passion and dedication he’s shown at Hard 90 to his new role at Vista del Lago, where he’ll undoubtedly make a positive impact on the next generation of baseball players. Go get ‘em, Coach Hutch!
